Questions about contributing to the Badminton Nanaimo community.

Badminton Nanaimo appreciates the support of individuals, businesses and other organizations. As an individual, you can get involved by:

  • Playing badminton regularly!
  • Volunteering at a "work party" when a site or event needs some help.
  • Helping to market badminton, Badminton Nanaimo, and/or this site by telling your friends, helping out with site maintenance, contributing content (start a blog, post some links, comment on other posts, etc.).
  • Chipping in with financial donations. (See the Sponsors link above.)

Questions about viewing and posting information on this site.

Many different kinds of content can be posted to this site. Depending on your role on the site you can post in several different ways:

As a regular site member, you can:

  • Create a blog (click "My Blog" in the top block on the left after you create an account and sign in), and
  • Post an external link or resource (click "Post Link" under the "Post Content" menu to the left).

As a ladder administrator, you can:

  • Post and edit club ladders (click "Post Ladder" under the "Post Content" menu to the left).

As a club administrator, you can:

  • Post news, new clubs, new locations, and events (under the "Post Content" link to the left).

To request a role with more permissions, please contact admin@badmintonnanaimo.com.

If you posted the information, you will see an edit link about the page when you view it. If the information was posted by someone else, changing it is a little trickier.

Certain kinds of information can only be edited or changed by members with the appropriate permissions. In general, if you find information that is not correct, you need to contact the person who posted the information or admin@badmintonnanaimo.com.

Badminton Nanaimo welcomes all clubs from Vancouver Island on the site. Right now, please send an email to admin@badmintonnanaimo.com with the information below.

To post your club to the site, we will need:

  • at least one administrative contact for your club (full name and email address),
  • the address of the location(s) where the club plays,
  • a brief description of the club (how often it meets, if it holds socials or tournaments, etc.),
  • pictures of the club building (outside and inside) if possible,
  • the cost of drop-in fees,
  • the type of bird used, and
  • the level of play.
